Advice for Religious Entrepreneurs

Getting People in the Door of Your Religious Startup

The idea of starting a religious organization can be exhilarating. You have no shortage of plans and purpose -- but how are you going to actually get people in the door?

The sad reality is that many religious startups launch without an effective strategy for attracting attenders or program participants.

There are several ways to effectively promote a religious startup.

The approach you take will depend on the types of people you want to attract. If you are targeting a younger demographic, online channels and social media networking will be critical parts of your promotional strategy. If your target demographic is slightly older, you'll want to focus on more traditional marketing venues as well as social media networking.

In either case, it's important to establish connections in the local religious community before you launch since religious participants tend to be extremely well connected and information about new organizations is primarily passed by word of mouth.
