Starting a Printing Business

Interview with Entrepreneur Chris Milas

Thinking about opening a printing company? We talk with the founder of PrintPrintPrint.biz who has combined low prices and high-quality to create a fast-growth printing business.

Believe it or not, you can start a printing business for $1,000 if you know what you are doing.

Evidently, Chris Milas knew how to do it right. With very little startup capital, he has manage to create a printing business, PrintPrintPrint.Biz, that is doing well and growing fast.

Chris, thanks for joining us as one of our featured entrepreneur interviews. Let's start with the basics. Where is your business located?

PrintPrintPrint.Biz is located in Levittown, PA. We are 20 minutes north of Philadelphia.

Tell me about your current business. What are you doing exactly?

At PrintPrintPrint.Biz, we provide superior quality printing for cheap prices. We also provide custom graphic design for everything we print. Our current products include (all full color): business cards, postcards, brochures, flyers, magnets, door hangers, letterhead & envelopes

When did you start the business?

We started In March 2008.

What were you doing before this, and is this your first business?

I designed and developed graphics for many different companies and startups.

Where did you get the startup money?

Just by saving. PrintPrintPrint.Biz was started with about $1,000.

Who are your main competitors? How do you compete against them?

Printprintprint.biz's main competition is VistaPrint.com. They are the leader as far as customer base in the industry.

How has your experience in running the business been different from what you expected?

I expected to work hard on the business - day in/day out and that's exactly what I'm doing!

Is there anything you wish you had done differently?

Not at this time. PrintPrintPrint.Biz is exactly on course for what it is supposed to be. We wrote out a 5-year business plan and add to it on a regular basis to tailor it to the current markets.

What have you done that has been very effective in helping to grow the business?

The most effective tactics have been marketing online and just reaching out to companies to let them know who we are. People love saving money on their printing and advertising costs by using PrintPrintPrint.Biz.

What advice would you give to somebody else who wanted to start a similar business?

That it's very hard to know where to go tomorrow if you don't plan today. So first, create a plan and then everything should land into place. If it doesn't, then you make it! That's the mantra over at PrintPrintPrint.Biz. We're in a commodity market, so it's all about price and service!

That's good advice. Having a great price and great service is a winning combination for entrepreneurs, and it sounds like you've done just that. Thanks so much for sharing your entrepreneurial experience with us, and good luck in growing your business.
