Lousiana-based A&W Restaurants was recently approved by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to join its national registry of franchise systems.
A&W is most famous for their root beer, but its restaurants also sell burgers, hot dogs and other American classics.
The addition to the SBA franchise registry means that A&W is listed in an online national registry and franchisees will hopefully experience greater ease with processing.
This new listing presents good news for entrepreneurs, in that those running A&W franchises can receive expansion loans in less time, and new franchisees will be able to start up their own businesses more quickly.
A&W is also celebrating its 90th anniversary by making improvements to the drive-in restaurant concept.
Company president, Ben Butler, felt positive about this new listing, indicating that it will be an asset to franchisees nationwide.
"In this challenging credit environment, we want to give our franchisees every advantage to secure financing for their new drive-in asset," he said. "We believe getting on the SBA Registry is a major step in that effort."
