American Express Points Equal Facebook Ads For Small Businesses
Written by Ken Gaebler
American Express points will soon be redeemable for Facebook ads.
Small businesses will be able to purchase Facebook ads with American Express Membership Rewards points, the credit card company announced on June 29.
David Fischer, Facebook's vice president of advertising and global operations, said hundreds of thousands of small businesses already advertise on the social media site, and he touted the convenience of being able to pay for ad space with American Express points. Card holders can redeem points for ads either through the usual Membership Rewards site or directly through Facebook.
American Express and Facebook have teamed up in the past, notably for the November 2010 Small Business Saturday, on which 10,000 small businesses were given free Facebook ad space.
Facebook has figured prominently in small business technology news lately. Roost recently launched a tool to help small business owners track local market penetration by analyzing Facebook data, and VerticalResponse recently integrated its email marketing package with Facebook.
