The Office Depot Small Business Index found that, out of the 1,000 small business customers surveyed, 38 percent said that they had been feeling the impact of the recession and as a result were "limiting business travel." In addition, 29 percent said that they had spent less on advertising campaigns.

"Small business owners are still feeling their way through the current economic conditions, particularly in their business and personal lives," said Steve Odland, chairman and CEO of Office Depot. Odland said that his company would "stand ready" to help small businesses get ahead by offering competitively priced items, which would help them save money on their bottom line.

Small business owners around the country will soon be able to purchase products from the U.S. Postal Service at Office Depot locations. The news for small business means that customers will purchase USPS items including Priority and Express Mail services, Priority Mail flat-rate boxes, and postage stamps.
