Urban Business Plan Contest Awarding $50k Top Prize

MillerCoors Urban Entrepreneur Series (MUES) is offering a total purse of $150k to small business owners with outstanding business plans.
For many entrepreneurs, business plan contests play an important role in funding business growth and expansion. MillerCoors Urban Enterpreneur Series (MUES) is currently sponsoring a small business plan competition with a top prize of $50k -- capital that could easily jumpstart a small business expansion initiative.
Designed to empower minority entrepreneurs and businesses, the MUES business plan competition is open to entrepreneurs aged 21 and older, with businesses that are less than five years old. In addition to the $50k top prize, up to four other entrepreneurs will be awarded grants of $25k and a consumer choice entrepreneur will receive a $10k grant.
In a quote provided to HispanicBusiness.com, Larry Waters, senior director of community commerce and partnerships, MillerCoors, said: "We recognize the challenges entrepreneurs face and the courage it takes to face those challenges and strive for success. MUES empowers small businesses and helps propel them to the next level."
Although commercial lending markets are beginning to loosen up, capital is still in short supply throughout the small business community. Rather than pursuing alternative financing in the form of credit card debt or cash from retirement accounts, entrepreneurs are increasingly open to exploring contests and other awards to meet their capital requirements. Since 1999, MillerCoors has been a strong supporter of small business, investing more than $1.7 million in U.S. entrepreneurs.
With the application deadline of October 26th quickly approaching, interested entrepreneurs should submit their entries as soon as possible.
