NASA Announces Winners Of $16.2 Million In Small Business Tech Contracts

NASA announces Phase II winners of its Small Business Technology Transfer program.
Small businesses are receiving help from a surprising source: NASA. The organization is no stranger to small business technology news and has recently selected 27 small business proposals worth millions of dollars.
NASA announced that the proposals, worth approximately $16.2 million, will aim to resolve technology needs for the agency that not only address current problems but hope to progress the organization's mission.
Some of the innovative technologies proposed as part of the program, which requires collaboration between small businesses and research institutions, include robotic technology for planetary exploration, space power and propulsion technologies and modern computational fluid dynamics codes to assist in modeling.
"There is no shortage of technological innovators in this country; we simply need to invest in them. Investing in research and technology, the U.S. will not only extend its technological superiority, but also will stimulate our economy, creating new high-tech jobs, products and services all across our country," said NASA Chief Technologist Bobby Braun.
The 27 winners represent Phase II of the Small Business Technology Transfer program. In December, it selected 450 proposals as part of Phase I to be awarded $100,000 each.
