New Blog To Focus On Small Business News, Issues
Written by Ken Gaebler
A new small business-related blog has been launched on Forbes.com.
The Small Business Authority, a publicly-traded Newtek Business Services, Inc. company, has launched a small business-related blog for Forbes.com.
In the first entry, posted on June 15, the SBA defined the blog's mission as informing overburdened small business owners about crucial topics such as lending, insurance and taxes. The post also encouraged reader comments to drive conversation regarding these issues.
An SBA press release specified that the blog will also include updates to monthly reports issued by the organization, including its Index and Market Sentiment Survey.
Last month's SBA Market Sentiment Survey focused on cloud computing, and revealed that 71 percent of small business owner respondents had not heard of this technology. The latest general Index showed small business lending up slightly between March and April 2011, though the news was not great for small businesses, as optimism in continued growth seemed to be flagging.
The Forbes blog will be the latest method by which the SBA reaches out to small business owners. According to company information provided in the first Forbes blog, the SBA already distributes a monthly newsletter to small businesses and produces an AM radio show called The Small Business Authority Hour.
