Video Editing Programs

Written by Anna Lempereur for Gaebler Ventures

When making videos for your company, it is important to keep them professional looking. These programs will easily edit your videos and completely change the look of your work.

There are many video editing programs available that allow you to edit your videos on YouTube, making them more professional and clean-cut.

A video that is not edited properly may dissatisfy viewers, and give them a reason to leave your channel and look for one that is more pleasing to watch. Each program contains features that make it possible to cut or add video, audio, graphics and text, along with high quality special effects.

Windows Movie Maker

This is a free program that comes with all Windows computers. It contains all of the basic features you need to edit videos that leave you with outstanding results. It is especially great for beginners, as the steps are easy to navigate and not too advanced. Although this program is simple, its tools work efficiently enough to make your videos look as if they were edited by a pro. The AutoMovie maker allows you to apply a variety of editing styles to your videos such as Music Video, Old Movie, and Sports Highlights. Features include importing videos, pictures, audio and music, adding titles and credits, a wide selection of video effects and transitions for you to put into your project.

iMovie

Slightly more advanced than Windows Movie Maker, iMovie allows you to edit with precision and ease. This is also a free program, and comes with all Mac computers. The Precision Editor lets you fine-tune edit by using a magnified filmstrip that shows you exactly where each clip begins and ends. Other features include importing and organizing videos, adding pictures, audio and music, editing audio and music, adding titles and credits, and applying transitions and special effects. There is also a tool that allows you to tag and filter your videos, so you can easily browse through your library and find your favorite projects.

Adobe Premiere Elements

This program’s sleek design displays tabs that help beginners easily load and edit videos. You can add pictures, audio and music, create multilayered menus, insert title transitions, edit audio and music, and do so much more with their large selection of special effects and features. An entire library of title templates is available for you to choose from and edit yourself. The green screen editor lets you insert your own custom backgrounds and animation into your video. The latest version, Adobe Premiere Elements 7, allows you to upload your videos directly to YouTube so that they instantly appear on your channel. You can also burn your videos to DVDs or Blue-ray discs. You can purchase this software or download a free trial.
