Work at Home Summer Internships
Our work-at-home summer internships are perfect for those of
you who are looking for journalism internships, venture capital
internships, or general summer internships. This
is win-win-win for you, us and entrepreneurs all over the world!
If you are looking for venture capital internships, journalism
internships or just great summer internship opportunities in general,
you're in luck.
We now offer:
- work-at-home summer internships for college journalism students who are interested in business
- work-at-home summer internships for MBA students
In an effort to populate the Resources
for Entrepreneurs section of our website we are looking for
talented individuals who have a passion for entrepreneurship coupled
with strong research and writing skills.
Our goal for the summer is to add many
new pages of content to our site, with each page containing good,
original content that will help entrepreneurs around the world to
be successful.
Your job, should you choose to accept it, is to write 101 articles over the course of the summer. You will be one of many summer interns working on this project.
Writing 101 articles requires that you be a prolific writer with a high level of empathy for what entrepreneurs would like to read. If you don't have a passion for subjects like entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, business strategy, franchising, business plans and the like, this isn't the job for you.
At the end of the day, you will be able to add these bullet points to your resume:
- Assisted with the development of a comprehensive resource site for entrepreneurs.
- Researched and wrote over 100 published articles on topics of interest to entrepreneurs.
- Provided strategic advice and recommendations on web site strategy and content development.
How Much Do We Pay?
If you are familiar with entrepreneurship, you are perhaps familiar with the concept of bootstrapping. That's when you try to get a lot done with very limited resources. That's what we are trying to do. As such, we are able to pay you up to $1,515 for the project. That's $15 per article.
We will pay you via PayPal wheneven we
we receive and approve a batch of five or more articles. We reserve the right to
ask for revisions to articles or to reject articles that we do not
feel are of sufficient quality. If poor quality is an ongoing issue,
we reserve the right to terminate.
Note that you will be working as an independent contractor, managing yourself and your time. We've got a short contractor agreement we will send over to you. At the end of the year, you will receive a 1099-form from us.
Will You Assign Article Topics to Me?
Our preference is that you develop your own article ideas based on your interests. In a pinch, we can provide story ideas but we prefer that you are able to develop your own story concepts. We would like to approve all article topics before you start on a batch of articles. This ensures that two interns will not be writing on the exact same article topics.
Will I Get a Byline?
Yes, your name will be included in every article you write, giving you credit as the author. If you have a website, we will also happily link to your website.
Do I Keep the Rights to My Articles?
No. We are contracting you to write the articles exclusively for our entrepreneurial resources site. As such, you cannot reprint the articles elsewhere and you surrender all rights in the content to us.
It's essential that your articles are original content. We use a service to detect plagiarism. If you plagiarize from other articles, we won't accept the article and you will not be paid.
When Can I Start My Summer Internship?
We're flexible on start dates. In fact, we've had people start their "summer" internships as early as January. Usually, interns are not as productive during those pre-summer months because they are juggling classes and other things. That's fine with us. On the flip side, if it's July or August and you think you've missed the boat, you haven't. In essence, we accept new interns throughout the year, so apply any time. Applying sooner rather than later might, however, ensure you'll get a spot before we run out of internship positions.
What If I Don't Complete 101 Articles?
101 articles is ambitious, and only a few talented interns hit that mark. It's a goal, not an ultimatum. If you write 50 articles, no worries. All we ask is that you contribute good original content that small business owners will find interesting.
How Do I Apply?
Here's how to apply for our work-at-home summer internships:
- Write a Sample Article. Write a sample article and submit it to us. If it's of good quality, that will be your first article and we will pay you $15 for the article. Payments will be made via Paypal. You can write on whatever topic you like, as long as it's of interest to entrepreneurs and small business owners. (Please do not send us articles about topics that are not relevant to entrepreneurs and small business owners.)
- Send Us Your Resume and a Cover Letter. We'd like to know who you are and what your background is. Please include an explanation of why you are interested in this internship and what articles you think you'd like to write. Please include at least three article ideas that you want to pursue.
Send the above information to us at gaebler-interns@gaebler.com
with the subject WORK AT HOME SUMMER INTERNSHIP APPLICANT in all
