Dell's recent SMB-focused marketing campaigns can mean good news for entrepreneurs, who could benefit from free marketing and PR courtesy of Dell's new Take Your Own Path campaign, the company announced this week.
The campaign "celebrates" a select number of entrepreneurs and startup businesses - which Dell calls "heroes" - by giving them local, national and global exposure via advertising and PR initiatives such as billboards, print advertisements and broadcast efforts.
The campaign is also integrated with Dell's online marketing efforts, such as the Small and Medium Business Solutions Center, and social media forums such as Direct2Dell, Twitter and Facebook. The selected entrepreneurs will also travel to small business events worldwide to share their stories.
"Dell has always believed that it takes an extraordinary person to launch and run a business," said Paul-Henri Ferrand, vice president of global marketing for Dell Small and Medium Business. "We understand the potential of medium and small businesses to transform the global economy and the Take Your Own Path campaign underscores Dell's commitment to supporting individuals with a big idea."
Featured entrepreneurs and startups include Cakelove, LinkedIn, Lonely Planet and Thinkwell Design.
American Express also recently unveiled an entrepreneur-focused marketing campaign, titled the American Express OPEN Forum, which features discussion boards and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.
