Solving complicated data problems runs in our DNA. Our CEO, Johannes Hovi is the son of Ari Hovi, one of the world's most renowned data modeling experts, who helped Finland figure out its financial data at a crucial time. When Johannes joined the family business in 2017, he quickly realized that the data modeling industry has stopped innovating and didn't offer customers what they needed. These tools were too technical. They had complicated UIs, legacy feature sets, and completely ignored the shift of not just the tech people using data. Thus Johannes and Ari sat down and penned out the first plans which eventually became Ellie.
