Though the state's economy has struggled to recover, small businesses in California made progress in the month of November compared to last year, according to one of the leading studies.
The latest statistics from from BizBen revealed that entrepreneurs were completing more business transactions than a year ago. The numbers showed that there had been 978 deals completed in the month of November in 2010, compared with 954 the same time a year ago, in the latest news for small business. The founder of BizBen, Peter Siegel, said that though the number of transactions rose from the same time last year, the overall results were worse than the month prior.
"...[T]he numbers were down about 29 percent from 1,384 sales recorded the previous month," said Siegel. "Sales activity was pretty strong earlier in November, but few escrow closings were scheduled for the last week because of the holiday."
