GCS Research said in a statement that it had met the guidelines to qualify for the SBA program, and that it was looking forward to reaping the benefits that went along with getting the distinction. Thanks to its new status, GCS will be able to get more access to government contracts and find more customers to help increase profits for a long time to come.

"We see this as an incredible opportunity and important milestone in the history of GCS," said Alex Philp, President and CEO of GCS. "This certification means GCS will now be highlighted as a contractor for federal business opportunities. It narrows the playing field and we hope it will allow us to bring more business home to Montana."

The company was fortunate to obtain the distinction, while the HUBZone program still lasts. The SBA program, which targets women and minority applicants, will end on April 30, 2011.
