The Monterey Herald reports that the Small Business Development Center in Gonzales has helped those interested in starting their own business do so with help from students at CSU Monterey Bay. One of those being helped is Janet Pacheco, who received help from CSUMB student Arturo Contreras, a senior accounting major.

The news source reports that Pacheco was able to get a loan for her father's Pacheco Water Store, located locally and opened in June. She was also able to get help on accounting practices from Contreras, who has considerable experience.

"People need help with accounting and marketing," said Contreras in an interview with the news source. "I don't come on too aggressively."

There have been other resources introduced recently to help small business owners. In the latest news for small business, entrepreneurs will be able to find out about marketing with the Small Business PR Course, which was recently launched live online.
