Through the efforts of organizations and large corporations, both women and Latino entrepreneurs can receive resources and advice on how to best grow a small business in the current economic climate.
In the spirit of National Women's Small Business Month, Dove Chocolate Discoveries is launching a program to help encourage women to start their own business and take control of their financial future through the power of chocolate. Similar to at-home tupperware or makeup parties, the sales team of Dove Chocolate Discoveries can sell chocolate at their own pace so as to fit into their schedules through the program.
Dove cited the Direct Selling Association, which reported women represent nearly 82 percent of the 15.1 million people in the direct selling industry. Taking advantage of the entrepreneurial spirit needed to succeed in direct selling, Dove created a program that allows its sellers to experience financial gain while having fun.
According to Dove, its sales force has access to training programs and tools from Dove to help develop leadership and business skills that can be used in the program and throughout their careers. The program allows members of the sales team the freedom of being their own boss, and the flexibility of setting their own hours.
Also catering to a specific sect of entrepreneurs, Travels Institute recently announced it will host a symposium to provide small business tips for Latino entrepreneurs and small business owners. A panel of experts will provide entrepreneurs with valuable insight on how to best start a small business. Topics to be discussed include government regulations, continuity planning and disaster preparedness.
