The U.S. Small Business Administration is preparing to hold its annual National Small Business Week in Washington, D.C.
The three-day event will bring together SBA Small Business Person of the Year award winners from 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and Guam. It will also feature the announcement of the National Small Business Person of the Year - exciting news for entrepreneurs and small business owners in the running for the award.
Winners of the state awards come from a diverse range of small businesses, including a military glove manufacturer, an eco-friendly restaurant, and a professional caterer.
Five major award events will honor businesses which have helped the nation's economy. Award winners will be recognized in a number of categories, including government contracting and disaster recovery. SBA partners will also be recognized for financial assistance and entrepreneurial development.
Small Business Week will take place from May 23-25 at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C.
This month, the SBA is offering a free webinar series on financial literacy. The series, which runs each Wednesday from April 7 through 21, will discuss money skills and financial wellness, with expert speakers covering a number of topics.
