Digital Signage Boom Good News For Small Businesses
Written by Jenna Weiner
Trends favoring digital signage reveal significant benefits for small companies interested in stretching their advertising dollars.
The increased use of digital signage has increased opportunities for small businesses in many ways. Not only are sign franchises growing rapidly, but small businesses looking to advertise can save money by using digital signage.
FASTSIGNS, a producer of digital signage, announced Tuesday that it has signed three new locations to franchise deals. The locations in Tennessee, Utah and Ohio are part of a large expansion initiative the company announced in 2009.
Digital signage nationally represents a $3.9 billion industry, according to CNN Money, and companies have started utilizing it more than traditional signs for reasons from cost containment to versatility to environmental concerns.
"The current economic climate presents a great growth opportunity for FASTSIGNS, as graphics and signage are key components of any business to attract customers and establish brand identity," said Brian Wieters, assistant vice president of franchise development for FASTSIGNS.
The development of the digital signage industry led to FASTSIGNS receiving two awards from franchise organizations in 2009. National Minority Franchising Initiative awarded the company for its dedicated service to the Hispanic community, and the International Franchise Association honored CEO Catherine Monson by naming her to the IFA's board of directors.
