Entrepreneurial social network MerchantCircle has partnered with Answerbag.com to provide expert advice.

MerchantCircle, a social networking site for entrepreneurs, has partnered with Answerbag.com, the Austin Business Journal reports. Answerbag is a product of Demand Media, Inc.

Entrepreneur Connectivity

Based in Los Altos, California, MerchantCircle is the self-proclaimed largest network of business owners in the country. The site was founded in 2005.

According to the paper, questions posted to Answerbag will now be passed on to MerchantCircle members. The community of about one million members will then contribute their answers back to Answerbag users.

The partnership is potentially valuable news for entrepreneurs seeking advice.

Larry Fitzgibbon, executive vice president of brands for Demand Media, told the paper that MerchantCircle "has deep roots in the small business community, and access to active professionals in every field ... who are eager to share their knowledge." He added that "both consumers and experts mutually benefit" from the sharing of questions and answers.

The financial details of the deal have not been made public.

Demand Media operates a number of notable websites, including eHow.com. Last year, the company partnered with First Book to launch the "Write for a Cause" program to increase literacy among children. Demand Media announced last week that the program's March campaign made it possible for 10,567 books to be given to children around the world.
