Computer giant unviels 'Aurora'.

When it comes to the latest technology news for small business owners, one of the largest computer companies in the world has been hard at work, and is introducing a brand new server.

Entrepreneur Technology Value

In a recent blog post, Microsoft's Kevin Kean, general manager of Windows Home and small business servers, wrote that a preview of Windows' new small business server, dubbed Aurora, would be released before the end of the summer.

"Aurora offers small businesses the help they need to ensure their data is safe through advanced backup and file restoration features," wrote Kean in the blog. "Aurora's users can quickly set automatic, daily backups of every personal computer on the network. If problems with those files arise, small businesses can restore individual files, folders or an entire PC or server with simple recovery tools."

Kean went on to write that the new technology would act as a "bridge" to the cloud, meaning that it would be designed to "integrate between on-premise and online services."

Microsoft made headlines recently by announcing that a version of Microsoft Office 2011 for Apple Mac OS would be available by the end of October.
