New platforms include a Twitter account and Facebook page

The U.S. Small Business Administration recently unveiled a series of new Twitter accounts and a Facebook page for its regional offices. Though just recently introduced, the agency has already found a good amount of success with its new platforms. The SBA's Facebook page already has 4,600 Likes and more than 2,400 followers on its Twitter account.

"We feel that increasingly, small business owners are looking online for the information they need and using those new resources to further their business," SBA Administrator Karen G. Mills said in a statement. "This is another example of our enhanced efforts to meet our constituents where they are and ensure they have access to the tools and information they need to start and grow their small business, and create jobs."

The SBA made other technology news for small business recently when it announced that it would be teaming up with Microsoft to introduce a brand-new guide. The Business Technology Simplified guidebook will give entrepreneurs a way to find out more about online opportunities.
