Facebook has more than 20 million users, and small businesses should learn how to reach out to new customers in this population as a marketing strategy.

WebMaxed recently announced the publication of a new ebook designed to help small businesses experience growth through the use of social media. Founder and CEO of WebMaxed and author of the ebook, Kevin Haynes, highlights different ways small businesses can take advantage of the popularity of social media, primarily Facebook, to market new products and increase sales.

The free, downloadable publication discusses different strategies for SMBs including how to set up a Facebook page, master essential site features and build a loyal community around a company's brand. The book discusses the different tactics, offers step-by-step guides and encourages readers to try different exercises to prepare for their social media debut.

"I wrote this eBook to teach small business entrepreneurs how to not only easily put their business on Facebook, but also to maximize their presence on Facebook and use it as a powerful marketing tool to actually grow their business,” said Haynes.

Similarly, Verizon Small Business Center recently hosted a free webinar with John Jantsch, a social media guru, to offer tips to small business owners on how to increase growth and customers using Facebook. Jantsch, a marketing consultant and author, will provide participants with helpful insights, real-life case studies and answer questions in an open forum discussion at the end of the presentation.
