The Nikola Labs story began at a picnic table behind The Ohio State University's ElectroScience Lab in October 2014 where the co-founders agreed to take technology developed by Dr. Chi-Chih Chen and create a company focused on changing the world with wireless power. Nikola Labs is an output of strong effort by Ohio State's Technology Commercialization Office to increase spinouts from the University, and a unique "Venture Development" model pioneered by Ikove Capital.
