There are a number of effective techniques for marketing your business website.

One of them is writing SEO articles and submitting them to article directories. For those of you who don't know what an SEO article is, here is a brief explanation. SEO stands for "search engine optimized." Simply put, this means that articles pertaining to your business should be written with keywords in a way that popular search engines will list them high in page ranking. The top listings generally mean the first two pages that pop up when a keyword relevant to your business is put into a search engine. Writing SEO articles gives you a chance to write an article that is related to your product or service and then create a backlink for your website. You can create a backlink to your site by putting your web url at the end of your article for readers to click on. Here is the process in more detail.

Write Articles With Popular Keywords and Phrases

Write 4-5 articles on a topic that is relevant to your business or service in SEO format. In order to do this you need to know what keywords and phrases related to your business is searched for the most by internet users. This can be done by using a free online keyword such tool. Just put in a keyword or phrase pertaining to your business and the tool will let you know how many people use that word or phrase to search for products and services like yours. It will also give you the stats on other keywords and phrases. In your article, use the ones that people search for the most.

Keyword Placement

Place these keywords in your title, first and second paragraph as well as the last paragraph. The general rule of thumb is keywords and phrases should be placed about every 100 words or so throughout the article. Be careful not to use it too much more than that. Search engines will see excessive use of keywords and phrases as spam and will not rank your articles at all.

Submit To Directories

Submit your articles to directories. Article directories are websites that internet users go to read articles on a particular subject. There are a lot of popular article directories. Just do a web search to find out the most popular ones and submit each article to them. It is a good idea to submit each article to 3-4 directories. If you write 4-5 articles this means that you have up to 20 backlinks from each article you have written.

Writing SEO articles and submitting them to directories is a great way to get traffic to your business website. One tip is to make sure the directories you submit to allows you to put your website url at the bottom of the article. Most directories designate a resource box for this. You should see a significant amount of increased traffic about a month after your articles have been accepted by the directories.
