Missouri is one of 45 states that have enacted minimum wage laws. The current minimum wage in Missouri is $3.05 more than the current Federal minimum wage rate of $7.25.

Retail and service businesses with annual sales of less than $500,000 are exempt, as are certain other employee classes.

The Missouri minimum wage has been rising slowly but surely in recent years. As recently as 2012, it was $7.25, equivalent to the Federal minimum wage. It is currently set to rise by 85 cents per hour each year, until it reaches $12.00 per hour in 2023.
