Google was found to be the search engine with the highest consumer satisfaction rating, making it an attractive marketing and advertising platform for businesses.

The University of Michigan's Ross School of Business had some important news for small businesses that are investing in search engine marketing or are considering doing so - their marketing dollars will likely be best spent with Google.

Entrepreneur Marketing Differentiation

The Ross School, in partnership with the American Society for Quality and CFI Group, reported in its quarterly American Customer Satisfaction Index that customer satisfaction among search engines was highest with Google.

The search engine giant saw a satisfaction index of 86, which is unchanged from the previous year but 7.5 percent higher than its index when the survey started measuring Google sentiment in 2002.

Google ranked 9 points higher than Yahoo - a difference of approximately 12 percent - as well as 11 points higher than MSN and 16 points higher than AOL.

A recent survey from iPressroom, Korn/Ferry International and the Public Relations Society of America found that two-thirds of businesses use search engine optimization in their marketing efforts.
