The process of buying a business laptop can be confusing. There is a broad range of laptops on the market, many of which lack the features and processing power to keep up with the mobile computing demands of busy executives. To make your search a little easier, we've compiled a list of five good business laptops that are popular with small and medium-size business professionals.

Lenovo Thinkpad T Series

Lenovo's Thinkpad T series has been a huge hit in the business community. Lenovo laptops have a reputation for being sturdy laptops that offer fast performance and a full range of security options. The new generation of Thinkpad T series laptops feature a thinner design and other improvements that make a great product even better.

HP EliteBook/ProBook

HP Elitebooks are a worthwhile option for business users who are looking for an HP computing experience in a very portable, yet powerful package. Running a Core i7 processor, the Elitebook 8440W ranks near the top of its class in processing speed. Although it's also at the high end of the price range for similar products, this HP laptop meets military standards for durability.

Dell Latitude

The Dell Latitude line of laptops competes with the Lenovo Thinkpad line for the title of the most popular business laptop. Intel Core 2 dual processing, long battery lives and a full range of security features make it difficult to ignore the Latitude line. The Latitude E6400 is an improvement over previous Dell Latitude laptop models with a streamlined design and ControlPoint software for easy configurations.

Toshiba Tecra

Toshiba users will find that the Tecra R10-S4411 has similar features to the products offered by other popular business laptop manufacturers. Like many Toshiba laptops, it's a good looking laptop with comparable processing speed, security features and a 5.5 hour battery life that makes it worth considering for business users.

Apple MacBook

You can't talk about business laptop products without mentioning Apple's MacBook. Like other Apple products, the MacBook is known for being a reliable computing platform. Although Apple laptop products aren't the right solution for every business user, if you're a Mac devotee and compatibility isn't an issue, a MacBook (priced at $1,000) is a great option
